Bright Things PLC is an innovative interactive tools and entertainment company created by former senior executives of video game publisher Eidos.
The company has a history of developing consumer products at the forefront of technology and trends. Originally involved in the interactive DVD market, the company is also focusing on the growing area of social networking.
The first product is SocialGOTM, an innovative online service that allows anyone to create their own social network.
Social networking is changing the way people communicate with each other. It's richer, better and more colorful and fun than email. There are many large social networks such as Facebook, MySpace and Bebo.
However, SocialGO allows you to create smaller more personal and, if you want, private social networks that can be used for existing groups or organizations. It can be an amazing tool for families, hobbyists, sports clubs, church groups, schools and universities, businesses, associations – in fact there are limitless types of groups or bodies that can benefit from the service by drawing people closer together.
SocialGO offers the sharing of blogs, photos, music and video, the ability to organize events, create special groups, introduce relevant news feeds and facilitate forums. It also offers instant messaging and video chat between members as well as allowing broadcasts and bulletins and profile sharing.
The owner and administrator of the SocialGO social network has a set of easy-to-use tools which allows them to design the site, set privacy parameters and control the content.
Although SocialGO does not contain external advertisements, if the network owner wishes, they can insert their own advertisements or promotions and make it commercial. Setting up a social network using SocialGO is simple and takes a few minutes.
At present the product is in private beta testing and that will be rolled out through the summer. An open free beta will be offered in due course and then the site will go live. There will be a free limited version and then a premium service that offers all the rich features of the software with unlimited membership. Only the network owner pays the subscription - the members pay nothing.
